Tips to manage loneliness

Organisation: Mind

Web page

Having lots of friends and contacts in your life doesn’t mean you won’t feel lonely. For many of us, feeling lonely is linked to low self-esteem or self-confidence.

And these feelings can be made worse if you’re isolated at work. That might be because you work by yourself, or you might work remotely. Even if you work in close contact with your colleagues, you might still find yourself feeling you don’t have a proper connection with them.

This page from Mind explores what loneliness is, and offers some tips and advice on how to manage these feelings. It includes some ideas on meeting new people, but also focuses on being comfortable in your own company. You’ll also find links to further resources which could help.

There is a link to a Welsh translation available on the page.
