It can be difficult to know where to start when it comes to talking about mental wellbeing. ABI, the Association of British Insurers, are offering an online training course for workers within their industry to gain confidence and understanding in talking about mental health.

The platform, which has been developed in collaboration with employee health and wellbeing specialists Rightsteps, is designed for use by anyone who talks to insurance customers.

The course, which takes around two hours to complete, is free and comprises three short modules which can be completed separately.

They are:

1. Introduction to mental health, to increase awareness and understanding of common mental health conditions.
2. Managing conversations, to develop skills for open, honest and effective conversations with insurance customers.
3. Individual vulnerability and crisis management, to improve communication skills to respond to people experiencing a mental health crisis.

You will be required to set up a free online account in order to access the training.
