People working in banking are facing challenges that have a big impact on their lives, such as changes in employment, the digitisation of banking and socio-demographic changes. Sometimes, these challenges might leave you feeling overwhelmed and in need of someone to talk to who understands.

The Bank Workers Charity has set up a confidential support service for those working in the banking industry. It is free for anyone who works in the sector, or who has worked in it previously.

The support line is staffed between 9am and 5pm on weekdays, and you can choose between a live chat online or a phone call, whichever suits you better.

The support for people affected by mental health problems includes:

  • access to counselling or other therapies, including CBT
  • advice about local and national services or charities
  • information about support available through your employee assistance programme (EAP)
  • advice and support for dependent children

Support is also available for a range of other topics, such as debt, relationships, housing and disabilities.
