Being furloughed can be a difficult time for your workers’ mental health. They might suddenly be feeling lonely because they can’t see their colleagues, they may be worried about their financial situation, and might feel anxious about when they can get back to work.
However, there are ways to support yourself and keep well when furloughed. This PDF guide from Mind was written for the charity’s staff, but they have shared it so other organisations can use the tips and advice for their own employees. It suggests ways to build a routine, where staff can turn for additional help, and supporting those returning to work after weeks off.
Since it contains information that is only relevant to Mind’s staff, it is not advised that you distribute this guide to your employees as it is. However, you can refer to it as an example when building your own wellbeing advice for furloughed staff.
