Dorset Mind
Dorset Mind is an independent local charity, part of the national Mind network, that has been supporting the people in Dorset towards positive mental health since 1946.
They have three key aims:
- To raise awareness about mental health challenges – what they are, what to expect and how to spot them. Dorset Mind educates people of all ages to encourage social inclusion. They are at the heart of shaping futures and changing lives.
- To challenge stigma and inequality of mental ill health so that people receive the proper support they need at the appropriate time.
- To promote the ethos of recovery from mental ill health, by empowering individuals to understand the recovery process by assisting them to develop resilience. Dorset Mind provides a range of support options to assist people in their own recovery.
