Integrative psychotherapist Helen-Jane Ridgeway defines your “window of tolerance” as where we feel like we’re operating at our best. However, life and work pressures can cause us to move outside of this window, potentially resulting in poor mental health and wellbeing. Some careers, such as fashion modelling or other performance-based roles, can put even more pressure on people to maintain their physical abilities or looks, meaning they are at an even greater risk of moving outside of their window of tolerance.

Here, Helen-Jane suggests some simple tips for moving back into your window of tolerance, by reducing anxiety or boosting low moods.

While it is aimed at those in the fashion industry, it can also be used by those in other lines of work in order to raise awareness and spark discussions.
