The dos and don’ts of caring for colleagues

Web page

Supportive work relationships can help keep teams feeling positive, improve mental wellbeing, and allow you to manage with small problems before they become big ones. This guide from Our NHS People includes three webinars on the topic of supporting colleagues, designed to help leaders within the NHS understand the best ways to aid their staff through difficult times and avoid some easy mistakes.

Originally, these presentations were given at the #caring4NHSpeople event on 8th April 2020, but have since been made available for anyone to use.

The three videos are:

  • An explanation of the NHS’s National Wellbeing Offer from Dr Sonya Wellbank,
  • Professor Neil Greenberg discussing the four principles of supporting your staff,
  • A conversation with four experts featuring a question and answer session.

Every webinar includes a transcript, and slides from the event are also available within the guide.

You can choose to make an account on the Our NHS People site, even if you do not work for the NHS. This allows you to track your progress through this guide and many others, and lets you return to the place you left off if you have to stop part way through a section. Click here to create an account or log in. However, you do not need to make an account to access it if you’d prefer not to.
