As part of Our Frontline, NHS and care staff in England can call Samaritans' dedicated confidential support line free on 0800 069 6222, 7am–11pm every day. Staff anywhere else in the UK can call on 116 123 to speak with a trained listening volunteer.


As the coronavirus crisis continues, there are increasing pressures for colleagues working across our health and social care system. This challenge isn’t like anything we’ve experienced before – so it’s more important than ever to take care of your own wellbeing.

If you work in the health or care sector – whatever your role, and whatever setting you work in – there is dedicated support for you, developed specifically for those experiencing the COVID-19 response.   • For NHS and social care staff in England, Samaritans have partnered with the NHS to launch a free, confidential wellbeing support line. It’s available from 7am to 11pm, 7 days a week, and is run by dedicated volunteers who’ll listen without judgment and can point you in the direction of other useful sources of support.
