Returning to the workplace after the COVID-19 lockdown

PDF

While most people are working from home where possible due to the COVID-19 crisis, organisations should start to consider how they will approach the gradual return to work in the coming months. This PDF guide covers some of the areas you will need to think about as staff come back, including managing the risk of the virus transmitting, providing reassurance, and teaching line managers about new procedures.

It is broken down into sections focusing on creating a strong return to work plan for individuals, teams, line managers, HR departments and the organisation as a whole. Specific situations are also explored, such as helping a staff member who has had a loved one die during lockdown, or understanding and supporting those who may be reluctant to stop working from home.

The toolkit also highlights new concerns that may not have been a large problem in your workplace before, but may be now. For example, you may need to ensure that people of east-Asian heritage in your organisation do not experience racist remarks or behavior. Considering these potential problems now can help your organisation prepare for a smoother transition back to work.
