Focusing on wellbeing can seem difficult in the complex world of retail. So, Time To Change and the British Retail Consortium have come together to produce this toolkit full of guidance, tips and examples.

The aim is to help you to produce a holistic strategy for mental wellbeing, looking at your whole organisation’s culture.   1. Produce, implement and communicate a mental health at work plan;
  2. Develop mental health awareness among employees;
  3. Encourage open conversations about mental health and the support available;
  4. Provide good working conditions and ensure a healthy work/life balance;
  5. Promote effective people management;
  6. Routinely monitor employee mental health and wellbeing.

Each standard is explained in detail, along with advice and examples to put it in context for retail employers.

The toolkit also includes case studies from some of the UK’s key retail employers, including Asda, Co-op, the John Lewis Partnership, Pets at Home, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and WHSmith.
