Mates in Mind's training programme aims to help everyone in construction to understand their roles and responsibilities regarding mental wellbeing. It covers starting the conversation to equipping line managers to responding when somebody is in a crisis.

Whether you’re an employee, a foreman or a senior leader, there are things you can do to improve your workplace approach to mental health and equip yourself for when issues arise.

Mates in Mind’s awareness and education programme, developed and delivered in partnership with leading mental health charities, is made up of three modules at different levels:

  1. A 45-minute awareness session to start the conversation around mental health
  2. A half-day course to increase awareness of mental ill health amongst foremen, supervisors and managers
  3. A two-day Mental Health First Aid course for construction.

Joining Mates in Mind also gives you access to campaigns and materials for use on-site. It’s all about becoming part of a larger movement to drive forward the construction industry’s approach to mental health and mental illness.
