Cambridge, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire Mind offer a range of mental health training, including managing mental health in the workplace, managing stress and building resilience, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).

Their Managing Mental Health in the Workplace is available as a one-day (six hours) or half-day (three hours) package, and offers a solid introduction for managers on the skills and knowledge they need to create a mentally healthy workplace.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the terms mental health, stress, anxiety, depression and psychosis;
  • Recognise the business impacts of poor mental wellbeing among staff;
  • Explain the Health and Safety Executive’s stress management standards/competencies;
  • Discuss the manager’s role in creating a mentally health workplace;
  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression;
  • Respond appropriately to a distressed employee;
  • Identify support available to an employee experiencing mental distress.
