Teachers and education staff are under tremendous pressure due to the coronavirus outbreak. You might be teaching the children of key workers, or you might be trying to host classes over the internet, and trying to cope with the uncertainty of not knowing when things might return to normal. It’s natural to feel anxious when facing such uncertainty.
Education Support have put together a series of resources to help teachers and educators to cope with feelings of anxiety caused by the COVID-19 crisis. It features a video of strategies to keep yourself calm, advice for managers of teachers, and links to further support if you need it. It also includes information about Education Support’s telephone support and counselling line.
As part of Our Frontline, Shout provides a free 24/7 text support service for anyone who's a key worker during the coronavirus crisis. Text KEYWORKER to 85258 to talk by text with a trained crisis volunteer.
Education Support provides a free, confidential helpline for all teachers, lecturers and staff in England, Wales and Scotland. It’s available all day, every day, and the site has downloadable posters to share it with colleagues.
