COVID-19: returning to the workplace

Web page

As the coronavirus lockdown is lifted, some sectors will start returning to the workplace in the coming weeks. It’s important for HR departments and managers to have considered what this phased return might look like, and understand any new procedures that may need to be in place to handle it. You may also have staff returning from furlough, so you’ll need to plan how they will rejoin your workforce smoothly.

This free guide from the CIPD explains many of the factors you will need to think about to prepare for people returning. It includes safety tests your workplace should pass before bringing staff back, a risk assessment template, and information about the law you’ll need to know. It also features some wellbeing measures, such as encouraging staff to still take time off and helping those who may have experienced a bereavement.
